What happened to changdictator, I heard she died.
omfg what. My beloved goddess didn’t die, I would honestly cry if that happened. ChangDictator first left AFF due to plagiarism issues, stayed on LJ, then decided to leave her LJ as well. I don’t think she left this time necessarily for plagiarism reasons, but rather she got busy. And maybe she just got tired of being ChangDictator, and that’s okay because she’s perfect being whoever she is.
I really love her, as both a friend and an admirer of her writing, and therefore respect her decision to leave. I know she still had fics left to finish (/sobs), but we can’t really do much when an author loses inspiration on a fic. It happens unfortunately.

You can recommend a fic without getting the author’s permission ^^ In general, you really need the author’s permission if you’re talking about translating/taking/reposting his or her work, not if you’re recommending its original source. Ah, does that make sense?

Hello dear admins! First of all I want to tell you how much I appreciate what you're doing. I hope you won't take my msg as an offence... I saw that you recomended 'The Last Bet', I know that story is popular but don't you think it's too offensive to be recomended? I know that you put up the warnings, but it involves rape, very wrong description of sex (right after rape even and no lube) which can give wrong ideas to some younger readers and very OOC characterisation. I hope you get what I mean.

Thank you for you concern but I don’t know… This seems to be one of those gray areas, you know what I mean? Rape is never excusable, yes, but we have and will probably continue to have recommendations that involve them. We try our best to have very clear warnings about them for the very reason we don’t want to offend anyone :( The wrong description of sex part… I’ve not read the fic personally so I’m not sure if I’m the best person to to talk about that. But rape and lube rarely go hand in hand if you really think about it??? As for young readers, we really don’t have control of that :( I think OOC characterization can be excused because it’s an AU fic…

You are right, the fic has some offence point in it, there’s rape, explicit violence and a whole of other things, and I was kinda concern in recommend this one. But someone requested dark fics, and since people recommended it, I thought why not. Anyways, I remember on the day I read it, even though there were those things, I had a nice read, the author’s writing is good.
I’m sorry if I offended anyone, but like Rhea said, if people ask for it and if the fic is good, we will eventually recommend. Oh darling, I feel your pain, and no, you are not the only one, I cried my eyes out while reading it too. That’s why I said that I kept looking if it was already recommended, because it’s simply beautiful. There were some moments that were really, really sad and painful, but the way their love is portrayed just took my breath away. They are passionate about each other, despite all circumstances, they manage to find love, and I think that’s what I liked the most about the fic, I guess. Anyways, I totally understand you! <3
