Oh yeah I get fanfics aren't about their entire life and all, but I think a lot of fans get their ideas from them. Like, per example, Sungmin being a perpetual bottom because he looks more feminine or because he's smaller. Idiotic, really. It's true that in some homosexual (and in some heterosexual) relationships there's a more dominating figure but isn't always the case. What would the fun if you are always being dominated by the one you love? It's all about reciprocity, really.

Oh, definitely o.o It’s kind of bothersome that people think that fanfics are accurate portrayals of life because it is like totally not that way over 90% of the time. Even slice of life fics sometimes have unrealistic twists in them to keep them interesting.

I actually think Sungmin is manly ;; Seriously! He may like pink and stuff, but he’s not girly or anything. I mean, if there’s one thing I cannot stand, it’s when fanfics make gay couples seem like heterosexual couples - as in, one is a “girl” and the other is a “guy” and there is no variety onwards. I mean, they’re both still men -.-” It’s so tiring when a male character is made super girly /sighs. It’s even annoying when girl characters are over girly. And yeah, this is why I also hate genderbender. Or one of the reasons, at least.

I understand a more dominating figure, but I don’t think it’s ever completely set in stone that “hey, I’m the more manly one and that’s that.” That’s just really far-fetched.
